Callister & Rethwisch – Materials Science and Engineering: An Introduction

A classic introductory text to materials science. Relatively accessible, but do take note that it is widely used at the college level. 

William D. Callister – Fundamentals of Materials Science and Engineering

More concise, great for first exposure. Again, note that the material is for the college level.

ASM International

Professional society with materials handbooks, webinars, and journals. Great if you want to dive deeper.
